Projects for Film and Media.

Here is a selection of projects for film and other media I have composed for.

Pieces Of Us

Can we dance now? - Short Film by Genevieve Lewis

It was a pleasure composing music for Genevieve’s short monologue film ‘Can we dance now’, as part of the ‘Pieces of Us’ collection.

Genevieve Lewis: There was always a message that I wanted to give people, something that would have been able to help me at the time I was struggling. I wanted to give something to help myself out back then, and also maybe help other people.

The Text Kit

I wrote the sountrack for a short film entitled The Text Kit, a little comedy about sexual health. Directed & Produced by Vaiginta Perkauskaite, written by Barbara Vonau, Starring Chanice Hird and David Duff.

It was screened (*online*) at the Raindance Film Festival (28th October-7th November 2020) and at GRRL HAUS CINEMA in Berlin, part of their open air festival 'RISE' (2020).

Music for Early Japanese Animation (2019)

For Barbican Film Festival 2019

It was a pleasure to write some music for rare Early Japanese Animation - a film called ‘Momotaro Under the Sea’ for piano, performed by Barbara De Biasi and Mixed Percussion

Phantom of The Opera (rescored)

For Barbican Film Festival 2018

In 2018 I was commissioned to write new music for part of Lon Chaney’s silent horror The Phantom of the Opera as part of Barbican Film festival. Despite being shot in black and white, the 1925 classic oozes colourful melodrama, humour and tension, it was a delight to produce a new underscore for this classic.

Oatcakes!(2013 Documentary)

Grassroots driven film about the communities of Stoke-on-Trent, celebrating its culture, heritage and the enigmatic oatcake!

Created by The 7th Town - Director Rob Burns, Producer Toby DeCann.

Doctor Who (Create a Soundtrack Competition)

Performed at The Royal Albert Hall, as part of the 2013 Doctor Who Prom.

I realised my passion for making music for film and television when I won the Doctor Who Create a Soundtrack Competition. I have always loved science fiction, my winning soundtrack to a clip of Doctor Who was arranged by myself, Ben Foster and Samuel Thompson at BBC Maida Vale Studios for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and was performed at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC 2013 Proms season.
